Happy 2010!
It's hard to believe a year has come and gone so quickly, but here we are! Time just keeps flying right on by...
As a child, the year 2010 sounded like a year when aliens would be living on earth and we'd all have space machines to fly around town.
I actually never thought I'd LIVE to be old and 37 sounded very old back then...so I don't think I ever really imagined myself this far ahead.
But if I could have...I would have wished for my grown-up self...
A true love
A beautiful family~ husband, 2 kids, and possibly a dog
A nice, cozy home
My parents & brother close by
A camper
Long fingernails
Singing, lots of it
Full access to Wal-mart (remember I'm projecting from the days BEFORE Target...my grown-up self MUCH prefers Target...)
Watches and more watches
So there are still a few more things that need work...I'm working on my parents this week, as a matter of fact. My brother: Check.
The fingernails~ well, some wishes just change as you get older. My nails grow like crazy and I prefer them short.
I've basically given up on the thought of having a camper...but you just never know. I wouldn't turn one down, that's for sure.
I've been blessed in ways that weren't even imaginable to a little girl daydreaming of what life could possibly be like in the far off year of 2010.
I much prefer the reality...although a flying space machine would be fun, I'm sure.
I haven't made any resolutions for the new year, really. I am making a few changes, but I'm not resolute about them. One of the changes is that I won't be writing on Girly Muse every day. While I enjoyed it, I want to just write as it comes this year. I hope you'll still stay with me...maybe it will be even better.

I've been one of those 'lurkers'... The one that reads sporatically & tries to catch up several weeks worth at a time. I've enjoyed every single post. I feel awkward wearing matching Christmas socks with my sweaters. (I'm so not cool)...;-) I loved your brutal honesty. I appreciate your flavor of writing skills. There's been times when I've totally gotten what you were saying & times when I was taken aback & thought WOW! Maybe one day we can share a glass of tea (with lots o' lemon), or coffee (for you since I don't drink coffee) & I can get to know you better. Have a great 2010. Oh, and to me, this place is just as futuristic as I thought it would be. Everyone online, with their headsets permanently attached to their heads...just like the old movies!
