Grab the Popcorn

Up way too early today, but was able to enjoy a favorite movie...

Do NOT let this cover throw you off. It is a great movie.

If you haven't seen it, you must. This movie has some of the best lines ever...all said in those sweet Southern voices. (Some accents were pulled off better than others~ let's not discuss Daryl Hannah's accent, please...)

A few fun lines...

Truvy~ Honey, time marches on and eventually you realize it is marchin' across your face.

Clairee Belcher: They were both high. They'd been smokin' everything but their shoes.

Truvy~ Sweet Tea, the House Wine of the South

Truvy~ When it comes to pain and suffering, she's right up there with Elizabeth Taylor.

Clairee Belcher~ The only thing that separates us from the animals is our ability to accessorize.

Clairee Belcher~ Ouiser, I'd recognize this penmanship anywhere. You have the handwritin' of a serial killer.

Clairee Belcher~ Ouiser, you sound almost chipper. What happened today - you run over a small child or something?

Clairee Belcher~ If you can't say anything nice about somebody, come sit by me.

Pardon me for this one...but it's so funny...

Truvy~ Oh, Sammy's so confused he don't know whether to scratch his watch or wind his butt.

And this might be my favorite...

Annelle: Miss Truvy, I promise that my personal tragedy will not interfere with my ability to do good hair.

And oh...there are so many more. It's even worth a re-watch.

Oh, yeah!! I watch it at least once a year, (when I'm homesick) and laugh my head off. Clairee is my favorite, she beautiful, experienced, a strong woman, says it like it HAS to be said, good humor, and is a TRUE friend(no matter HOW bad the 'nut' seems to be). Well, guess what I'll be doing today! Love you beautiful, Southern Belle!!

"Pink is my signature color" and then her wedding colors are blush and bashful and someone says the whole church looks like's been doused in pepto bismal. Classic. The ultimate laugh/cry movie.
